• Y Porth

An integral part of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol (Welsh medium national College), 'Y Porth' (literally "the gateway") is a collaborative e-learning platform for the Welsh medium Higher Education sector. It allows universities across Wales to share Welsh medium resources nationally and deliver cross-institutional university modules using innovative e-learning technologies.

The collaborative resources and modules on the Porth were developed by teaching staff from Welsh universities, funded and supported by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol (the Centre for Welsh Medium Higher Education prior to April 2011). The wide range of subject areas covered on the Porth reflects the significant developments in the sector, and the Porth has established itself as being central to all developments in the Welsh medium Higher Education sector.

The Porth is an essential element of the vision of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol (Welsh medium national College) to create a Welsh medium academic community in which students can receive high quality Welsh medium university education. Welsh medium students and staff from all Welsh universities are encouraged to join the Porth community.
