About the Porth

The Porth e-learning platform was established by the Centre for Welsh Medium Higher Education in 2009 to support its work of developing and expanding opportunities for study through the medium of Welsh at universities across Wales. The Porth uses e-learning technologies within the Blackboard Learn 9.1 Virtual Learning Environment to enhance the experience of Welsh medium students, and enables students to study effectively and collaboratively with students from other institutions using cross-institutional materials.

The Porth is central to the academic development programme of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol, and complements its vision of creating a Welsh medium academic community.
