Social Care Wales have worked with the sector to develop Essential Skills Wales resources to help with teaching and learning for Application of Number and Communication at Level 1 and 2. The resources have been designed to reflect real life work scenarios that you may come across in social care and cover different learning outcomes that you need to know to complete your Essential Skills Wales qualifications. The resources are not mandatory. You can do them all or just pick which ones will help you best. These resources are intended to support learning and so do not replace teaching or assessment activities. They have been designed to demonstrate where Essential Skills Wales skills are applied in practice settings and may not cover all learning outcomes fully.

The aim of this resource is to: Provide students with information about the profession of Speech and Language Therapy Explain what communication is and the importance of the profession in supporting individuals with communication needs Give a taste of a first-year level university seminar This resource has been developed jointly by Cardiff Metropolitan University and Wrexham University with support from the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.

A collection of language mats that can be used by experienced teachers, newly qualified teachers, and PGCE students to develop Welsh language vocabulary of pupils within secondary subjects. The purpose of these language mats is to raise confidence and increase the capacity of individuals to use the Welsh language confidently when teaching their subject in secondary school.
