Learn Welsh Online Taster Courses
A set of multimedia resources for learning to programme through the medium of Welsh. This resource includes 28 videos on how to download, install and run Python; basic syntax; and algorithmic thinking by solving example problems. There is also a Welsh-medium website which includes resources for developing research software and computer science research methods.
These short courses are for apprentices who are keen to develop their confidence to use their Welsh in the workplace. They enable the apprentices to complete a part of their course through the medium of Welsh. There are four different levels: Awareness, Understanding, Confidence and Fluency and there is a quiz to determine which level is suitable for you.
Art Collections Online
Catalogue of all paintings and sculptures in the collections of the Art Department of Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales', and works on long-term loan from the Derek Williams Trust. Also included in the collection are some thirty thousand paintings, watercolors, prints and photographs and around eleven thousand works of applied art.
Y Geiriadur Celf ('The Art Dictionary')
When studying Art and Design at AS and A level, students will need to ascertain the meaning of specialist words and learn more about art organisations. The Geiriadur Celf is designed to answer these needs. It contains clear and comprehensive explanations of key areas of importance for students of Art and Design in Wales.
Bocsgolau is an online resource designed for art, craft and design teachers and students to support the aims of WJEC and Eduqas art and design programmes. Its aim is to provide insights from an education perspective into the contemporary practice of art, craft and design, the creative industries and the 21st century career change landscape. There are links to the websites of practitioners, creative organisations, galleries and museums, and an assessment and list sources of careers advice.
Diogelwch, Gwastraff ac Offer ('Safety, Waste and Equipment')
A resource for Agriculture students studying a level 2 qualification, focusing on health and safety, farm waste disposal, and the use of farm equipment. The health and safety section includes PowerPoint and Word presentations featuring documents on risk assessments, hazards and manual handling. The farm waste section contains six Word documents regarding farm waste disposal. The farm equipment pack contains a PowerPoint presentation and Word documents that can be used and adapted for designing worksheets for the classroom.
Rheolaeth Busnes ar y Fferm ('Business Management on the Farm')
A digital resource produced by Tinopolis and Coleg Sir Gar. This resource gives students 'real' experience of completing tasks including: • Completing documentation to send cattle to slaughter or lambs to market • Completing VAT returns online • Managing various business management documents associated with running farm enterprises • Registering a new-born calf with CTS online • Preparing the farm with the necessary paperwork for a Farm Assurance visit. The content of the resource is particularly appropriate for farm animal and business management units at levels 2 and 3.
Myfyriwr Amaeth ('Agricultural Student')
24 video clips produced by Telesgop. They are 5 to 8 minutes long, and include vets, lecturers and experts discussing a particular principle or demonstrating a skill. They are ideal for some of the units taught as part of the Level 3 (BTEC and City & Builds) course , namely: • Sheep production • Beef production • Dairy production • Grassland Management • Agricultural engineering • Estate maintenance skills • Management of pigs and chickens • Health of farm animals The clips can be used to demonstrate a particular skill, leading to discussions in the classroom before completing a worksheet. Many of the clips give students a good grounding before they go out to practice the skill.
