Recordings from the first podcast conference for students in Wales which was held by Cardiff University and Swansea University, with the support of Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol. A series of workshops, panels and training sessions were held by experts within the podcasting world in Wales including: Aled Jones 'The Pod' Mel Owen Elin and Celyn (Don't Apologize) This was a great opportunity for experts from the media industry to share stories and advice with the students. Sgiliaith joined us to give advice on how to encourage and support students to work through the medium of Welsh, and an experienced staff member who now teaches bilingually in the sector highlighted some useful resources.     This session took place on 29 January 2025.

Social Work Conference 2024 - The Best of Both Worlds: Connecting Social Work Research and Practice in Wales  A collection of presentations from the Social Work conference held jointly by Bangor University and Swansea University in March 2024. The main focus of the conference was on current research and good practice within Social Work in Wales.

Researcher Wellbeing Cymru (RWC) is an online resource designed to enable doctoral researchers to foster a healthy sense of wellbeing. It can help you navigate your doctoral journey, become more resilient and identify beneficial ways of working. You can expect to find resources about working with your supervisors, managing your time, and keeping motivated. Doctoral researchers from universities across Wales were involved in creating resources.  This resource has been developed by academics and professional services staff involved in doctoral education at Cardiff Metropolitan University and Aberystwyth University in collaboration with other universities in Wales.

This online resource was created for planning students who speak Welsh by lecturers from the School of Geography and Planning (GEOPL) at Cardiff University. The aim is to provide information and insight into being a planner in Wales. It contains four videos of Welsh speakers discussing different aspects of being a planner; working in Wales and/or using the Welsh language in the workplace. In addition, there are some links to written resources that may be useful.   The project team hope to continue developing the resource in the future.

A collection of language mats that can be used by experienced teachers, newly qualified teachers, and PGCE students to develop Welsh language vocabulary of pupils within secondary subjects. The purpose of these language mats is to raise confidence and increase the capacity of individuals to use the Welsh language confidently when teaching their subject in secondary school. This article discusses the industrial and personal connections between the Crawshay family in Merthyr Tydfil and the Dufaud family in France. It draws on travel diaries, notes and letters by Georges Dufaud and his son Achille Dufaud on their visits to Merthyr, providing insights into the Frenchmen’s impressions of Merthyr and its industrial superiority, and of the practicalities of travel and funding at the time. These texts also suggest the extent of the technological transfer from Wales to France, and reveal Welsh fears of industrial espionage. Following the wedding of Louise Dufaud and George Crawshay, Welsh workers and Welsh machinery (from Neath Abbey) were exported to France.
