A series of videos introducing NVivo by Emma Grigorian, PhD researcher at Cardiff Met University. NVivo is computer software used to collect, organise, analyse and interpret qualitative data. It can be used to analyse data from qualitative research methods such as interviews, focus groups, questionnaires and transcripts by coding the data and identifying themes and patterns. A series of videos introducing SPSS by Dr Awel Vaughan-Evans, Reader in Psychology at Bangor University. SPSS is a computer software used to collect, analyse, and interpret quantitative data using statistical methods. It can be used to analyse data from qualitative research methods such as surveys, interviews and focus groups by coding the qualitative information and turning it into quantitative data. Sioned Dafydd, Sgorio - This conversation with the sports presenter, Sioned Dafydd, is for anyone who is interested in working in the sports communication sector. Sioned presents programmes and items on S4C's 'Sgorio' and on Sky Sport. She talks to Dr Non Vaughan Williams, senior lecturer in Media and Communication at Swansea University, about how the Welsh language (and studying through the medium of Welsh at university) has opened doors for her in the industry, her experience of being a sports female presenter, including the highlights and challenges of the job. Sport and Media Discussion - Gabriella Jukes, presenter on Sky Sport, international swimmer Medi Roberts, and Cathy Williams, Head of Communications and Engagement, Team Wales Commonwealth Games 2026. The panel discusses the challenges of preparing and presenting on the media and social media, and also of being on the other side of the discussion when dealing with the press and media as an athlete, content producer and as head of communications. They’re in discussion with Andrew Weeks, Lecturer at Cardiff University’s School of Journalism, Media, and Culture

The Coleg commissioned behaviour change agency Claremont to create the Behaviour Change Implementation Pack. The pack is intended to provide guidance and advice to practitioners who work with learners who are in the process of making decisions about their education.  Together we can help prospective students to make informed decisions about their next steps when studying through the medium of Welsh at university. This is a podcast in Welsh that is a little different from the usual, and which – as the title suggests – tackles some of life's big questions. The podcast is funded by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol, and the series is presented by Dr Huw Williams, a reader in Philosophy at Cardiff University, who holds lively and witty conversations with various friends, including experts and some leading Welsh academics.  The premise of the series is that we all reflect on profound issues that are part of everyday life, and discussing and reflecting on these themes is a healthy and important thing. The talks present the discussions through the medium of everyday language in an accessible way; It should appeal to 6th form learners, university students, and other adults who have no prior knowledge of the subjects in question.  So join us (and also get ready for a little trip to Roswell...)!
