Further Education Tutor Support Toolkit
These resources have been designed to support tutors to develop their bilingual teaching skills and increase their awareness of the Lifelong Learning Welsh Record (LLWR) and the LA26 data set. The data set is used to record Welsh and bilingual provision in the post-16 education sector in Wales. The aim of the resources is to give tutors confidence in the way activity completed in Welsh or bilingually is recorded on the LLWR, and to help tutors establish where their provision currently sits. They are also designed to give tutors practical advice on how to move their teaching up the bilingualism continuum. This tutor support pack includes: Handbook - a working document that can be used for reference, as well as to establish specific personal targets for increasing the Welsh/bilingual provision. Online e-learning course - Understanding the Welsh Lifelong Learning Record (LLWR). This interactive online learning module provides an overview of the Welsh Lifelong Learning Record (LLWR) and how it is used by the Welsh Government to record Welsh and bilingual provision in the post-16 education sector in Wales. Sgiliaith bilingual glossary app - 'Sgiliaith Feedback App' - this app contains a wide range of learner feedback and general phrases you can use in your role as a tutor in order to provide learners with a Welsh/bilingual experience. Machinery on the Farm
This resource, for post-16 Agriculture, horticulture and animal care learners, highlights the importance of machinery legislation on the farm. It demonstrates working principles and machinery preparation, looks at the environmental impact, and provides examples of post-operative procedures to minimise degeneration of machinery.
Welsh-medium Research Conference 2022 (30 June 2022)
This Conference was held in a hybrid form this year, with an in-person audience at the National Library in Aberystwyth, and it was broadcast live to a virtual audience. The Coleg's annual Research Conference is for everyone who conducts and is interested in academic research through the medium of Welsh, whatever the field and whatever the discipline. Scientists, humanists and sociologists from all over Wales and beyond are invited to share the fruits of their research and to discuss with other like-minded Welsh researchers. The aim of the conference is to give the next generation of academics an opportunity to present their research before an audience of peers. The conference is also an opportunity to network with Welsh-speaking researchers and to foster a wider community of academics who promote Welsh-medium provision in our universities. myf.cymru is a Welsh language mental health and wellbeing project for students, which has created a website of the same name. The resources have been created in partnership with Bangor University, Aberystwyth University , University of Wales Trinity Saint David and Grŵp Llandrillo Menai. On the site, you will find original content from Welsh speaking students and also mental health resources that have been reviewed by Welsh speaking therapists. TMyf.cymru has worked in partnership with the MOIMR program to translate their app into Welsh. Full of useful and practical resources to support you on your recovery and will help anyone navigate the challenges of daily life. There is also a podcast called 'Sgwrs?' which covers issues that affect students today.
